Older Adults Monarch Program
The Monarch Program provides specialized services for older adults. It is estimated that 20% of people ages as young as 55 years or older experience some type of mental health concern.
Mental health issues are often implicated as a factor in cases of suicide. Older men have the highest suicide rate of any age group. Men aged 85 years or older have a suicide rate of 45.23 per 100,000, almost 4x the overall rate for all ages.
Hendricks Behavioral Hospital understands the older adult population faces mental health conditions that are directly affected by life situations and aging. Hendricks Behavioral has created the Monarch Program specifically for this group to offer mental health services. This program is designed to allow older adults to express their feelings, share their experiences, and focus on their mental health.
