Our Adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a secure, inpatient area reserved for patients experiencing psychiatric distress.

This program has been designed to treat patients who are suffering from a mental health crisis including symptoms such as:

  • Delusions
  • Hallucinations
  • Psychosis
  • Suicidal ideation, and/or homicidal ideation
  • Individuals experiencing gravely disabled functioning

Crisis intervention and stabilization services are administered in a highly-monitored environment by specially trained Nurses, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, and Psychiatrists. This is the highest level of care offered by Hendricks Behavioral Hospital.

Most patients are generally able to move from this unit once stabilized to one of our other specialized treatment programs if symptom stabilization is established.

We help individuals by utilizing a multidisciplinary treatment approach, including; psychiatrists, licensed therapists, registered nurses, as well as substance abuse, and mental health professionals, all with the goal of addressing each person’s unique treatment needs.
